Florida Hospital employees answer urgent call for organs. Right now, more than 80,000 Americans are waiting for organs.  On Monday, April 26, Florida Hospital will join the Workplace Partnership for Life, an effort by HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson to increase organ donation.  During this special event, Florida Hospital transplant recipients will share their inspiring stories, as employees donate blood and platelets and sign organ donor cards.

Florida Hospital health care workers put down their scalpels and stethoscopes to try their hand at design.  As part of Florida Hospital’s $400 million expansion, architects and administrators have turned to employees to develop the patient room of the future. On Thursday, April 29 get a “backstage look” as employees head to the “Imagination Station” to take part in this exciting design process.

Professional football players take a “time out” for their hearts.  A large body mass index may have helped them on the field, but off the field it could lead to cardiovascular disease.  On Tuesday, April 27 former professional football players will take part in a special cardiovascular health screening program at Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

Florida Hospital NICU parents get to “cash in” on generous donations from Bank of America.  As part of its fundraising pledge for March of Dimes WalkAmerica, Bank of America is donating baskets full of baby supplies to families with infants in Florida Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  The baskets will be donated on Tuesday, April 27 and Florida Hospital will provide video.

Bucs tee-off to help kids with cancer.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking part in the seventh annual Florida Hospital Celebration Health Golf Classic on Wednesday, May 5 at the Celebration Golf Club.  Find out how the money raised will help improve the lives of kids living with cancer.
