Winter Park Memorial Hospital Gives Patients a Vacation Experience in a New and Improved Open MRI

Picture white sandy beaches, palm trees swaying in the breeze, a sparkling blue ocean with waves crashing in the distance. But you don’t have to get any sand between your toes on this get away, that’s because patients get this type of view while they are getting an MRI! Or if the beach isn’t your idea of relaxation how about scenes of Asia or Europe all while lying in Winter Park Memorial Hospital’s high field Open MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging.)

WHAT: For years Open MRIs have helped radiology patients feel less claustrophobic during the sometimes lengthy imaging procedure but they haven’t always been the most accurate.  Now patients can experience vacation views, ambient lighting, or the music of their choice while getting high quality images normally only available by a traditional MRI.  Come experience Central Florida’s first hospital to have this accurate and relaxing Open MRI technology at Winter Park Memorial Hospital.

VISUALS: Photo and video opportunities are available of our new Open MRI and the relaxing atmosphere.  Video is available by request of a patient preparing for the procedure along with interviews with the patient and Winter Park Memorial Hospital Administrator Ken Bradley.
