WHAT: Winter Park Memorial Hospital, a Florida Hospital, continues to increase its women’s services with the new Women’s Health Center.  The first phase of the new Center, which opens to patients today, is an expansion of the Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place.  The newly expanded unit extends from the third floor of the current hospital and adds an additional 18 luxury postpartum mother/baby suites.  Each suite includes hardwood floors, private bathrooms, additional beds for family members, and interactive flat screen televisions.  These additional suites will add to the current Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place that features 18 postpartum suites, seven private labor, delivery, and recovery rooms; two dedicated operating room suites; and the Genius Baby Nursery for the newest arrivals.

The expansion of the Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place is the first phase of Winter Park Memorial Hospital’s $24 million expansion project, a 55,000–square-foot Women’s Health Center, which will also include18 new inpatient beds, state-of-the-art imaging technology and services, as well as conference space.  This project will allow the hospital to continue to meet the growing needs of the Winter Park community and is made possible through generous philanthropic support from the community, including a $1.5 million donation from the Holler family, owners of the Holler and Classic automotive group.  Additionally, the Holler family is donating infant car seats to the first 18 new moms staying in the newly expanded area of the Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place.

BACKGROUND: Annually, Winter Park Memorial Hospital, a Florida Hospital, delivers approximately 3,000 babies. The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place at Winter Park Memorial Hospital is designed with the entire family in mind.  The New Mother Concierge Program is individualized for each new mom and includes mommy and daddy massages; afternoon tea; gourmet celebration dinners; baby portraits; private consultations with lactation consultants; free valet parking for new mothers, fathers and their families; and birth certificates available right in the hospital.
