The award is one of only five given out by the publication’s annual Best Nursing Team awards program. The magazine will feature the nurses on the WPMH Orthopaedic Unit in its May 30, 2007 issue. More than a dozen nursing units from across Florida were considered for the award and were judged on initiative, adaptability, teamwork, recruitment/retention, and knowledge. "We are very proud to receive this award, as it is testimony to the Orthopaedic team's collaborative effort toward the consistent delivery of safe and superior patient care. With the patient at the center of our team, whole-person care is the framework for extending excellent Orthopaedic care within our community,” said Lydia Hendrix director of Nursing at WPMH. Winter Park Memorial Hospital, a Florida Hospital, is a 275 licensed-bed, acute care hospital chartered in 1951 by residents of the community. The hospital offers a full range of services and programs including Obstetrics and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, Cancer Care at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Winter Park, a 24-hour Emergency Department, as well as the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute. |
