Florida Hospital Winter Park Expands Emergency Department

Get a sneak peak at the new technology and increased capacity that will better serve the healthcare needs of the community

WHAT: Patients coming to Florida Hospital Winter Park will have a bigger, better, and faster emergency department (ED), now that the much anticipated ED expansion project is complete. Last year, Florida Hospital Winter Park treated more than 35,000 patients in the ED.

The ED expansion will nearly double the number of beds to a total of 34 and include private patient rooms with doors and walls.  In addition, the Express Care unit for minor injuries and illnesses will allow for patients to be treated in less than two hours. Patients at Florida Hospital Winter Park’s ED will receive the highest quality care thanks to the latest technologies available, including Phillips Intelivue Flatscreen Heart Monitor, Multislice CT scanner, and Flatscreen PDI personal television.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 1
           12 – 1 p.m. Media Open House
           5 – 7 p.m. Ribbon cutting ceremony for Winter Park community
