Florida Hospital Announces Expansion of Life-Saving Organ Transplant Services

WHAT: More than 3,000 patients awaiting life-saving organ transplants are Floridians, and many of those residing in the greater Orlando area have had to travel to other parts of the state for liver and kidney/pancreas transplant services – until now. Today, April 11, the Florida Hospital Transplant Center will officially announce the expansion of its services, offering new hope to patients awaiting life-saving transplants. Be there to see the expansion announcement and hear from patients whose lives have been touched by organ donation. BKGRD: The transplant program at Florida Hospital has transformed lives for more than 30 years through personalized care of those awaiting kidney transplantation. Established in 1973, the program offers transplantation services, patient and professional education, and dedication to those in need of lifesaving organ transplants. The Florida Hospital Transplant Center has performed more than 2,000 kidney transplants since 1973. Last year, organ donations saved more than 28,000 lives.
