Florida Hospital Kissimmee Breaks Ground on Medical Complex that Will Bring More Doctors, Ambulatory Surgery Center

WHAT: To help keep pace with the growing healthcare needs of the residents in Osceola, Orange, and Polk counties, Florida Hospital Kissimmee is breaking ground on a new Medical Office and Outpatient Services Building on Thursday, August 23, that will house doctors with specialties in orthopaedics, pulmonology, gastroenterology, general surgery, and urology. The new HealthPlex at Florida Hospital will feature physician offices, an ambulatory surgery center, and outpatient imaging services. Expected to open in October 2008, the three-story, 85,091-square-foot facility will also provide a new lobby and main entrance to the hospital. BKGRD: Florida Hospital Kissimmee is a full-serve community hospital dedicated to bringing mission-focused care to its patients. The hospital recently completed a multi-million dollar upgrade to the surgical and intensive care units in addition to renovating patient rooms. In the future, the hospital plans to build a new patient tower that will add an additional 90 beds. Projects such as these are made possible through the generous philanthropic support of the community.
