Florida Hospital will be opening the new Darrell Armstrong Child Development Center at Florida Children’s Hospital (located at Florida Hospital East Orlando), thanks to a $250,000 grant from The Darrell Armstrong Foundation for Premature Babies.

Darrell Armstrong and Florida Hospital officials will be dedicating the new center, which will serve children and families affected by premature birth who have limited resources.

If the behavioral, developmental, sensory and physical challenges associated with premature birth are not adequately addressed, it can lead to negative behavior and lifelong disability.

The new DACDC will make diagnosis and treatment more accessible, by offering a team of specialists to provide treatment for children who were born prematurely and are not currently receiving early intervention services. Scholarship funds are also available through the grant to help ensure these services.
