The new entrance to the hospital, which leads to the main hospital and the Medical Office Building, is made up of a glass rotunda that stretches more than two stories high. Inside patients and visitors will find a new registration area, Information Desk, chapel, and café. Outside, the hospital has created a healing garden. The Medical Office Building features 42,000-square-feet of new medical office space that will allow Florida Hospital Apopka to recruit new specialties to the area. These buildings were designed to create a healing and calming environment that features plants and natural light. “The new entrance lobby and especially the new medical office building will bring new physicians to the Apopka area and give this community access to more specialized care than we could previously provide,” said Verbelee Nielsen-Swanson, administrator at Florida Hospital Apopka. “Our goal is to become a full-service community hospital by the year 2020, and with these new additions, we are on our way to accomplishing that." Currently, Florida Hospital Apopka is a 50-bed community hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient, emergency, and outpatient services. Florida Hospital relies on the generous donations of the community to continue to provide world-class care and to expand to meet the growing needs of Central Florida. |
