WHAT: A lot has changed since Florida Hospital Altamonte first opened its doors in 1973. What was once a stark cow pasture is now a bustling hospital treating more than 16,500 patients a year. To keep pace with this growing community, Florida Hospital Altamonte is expanding once again.
The first stage of the expansion will be unveiled during a special dedication ceremony as Altamonte Springs Mayor Russel Hauck and Seminole County Commissioner Dick Van Der Weide help hospital officials dedicate the new 875-space parking garage and reveal the new 195,000 square foot expansion plans.
Construction will begin on the new 83-bed patient tower early next year, with plans for completion by the end of 2007. The expansion will include a new and expanded emergency department, six-story patient tower, and a new lobby.
WHEN: Thursday, July 8 at 10 a.m.
