Florida Hospital Altamonte debuted the newest, largest, and most clinically advanced Emergency Department (ED) in Seminole County. The new ED will help accommodate the growing population, which is expected to grow by 10,000 residents a year. This 30,000-square-foot, 37-bed unit is THREE TIMES the size of the previous ED and features private rooms with private bathrooms and flat screen, interactive televisions in each room. “Florida Hospital Altamonte is pleased to provide this enhanced level of emergency care for the community,” said Rob Fulbright, Florida Hospital Altamonte administrator. “The new Emergency Department offers added amenities and a more efficient process to provide clinically advanced emergency care faster than ever before.” With the new ED, Florida Hospital Altamonte will continue to provide patients with the most advanced emergency care, including clinical protocols to stop a heart attack in minutes through its nationally accredited Chest Pain Center and faster diagnosis and treatment for stroke through the county’s only Brain Attack Center. For more than 30 years, Florida Hospital Altamonte has provided for the healthcare needs of Seminole County residents. In April 2005, Florida Hospital Altamonte broke ground on the new ED and a new 6-story patient tower that will include 72 private spacious rooms with added amenities, a new entrance lobby, and a new chapel and healing gardens. The hospital will also add 11 beds to the Intensive Care Unit. This $70 million community investment is expected to be complete by the end of 2007. Florida Hospital relies on the generous donations of the community to continue to provide world-class care and to expand to meet the growing needs of Central Florida. |
