Today, Olympus America President and COO, Mark Gumz solidified a new strategic alliance with Florida Hospital that will provide state-of-the-art technology to advance the hospital’s Digestive Disease Center of Excellence.

“With approximately 75 million people in the U.S. suffering from some type of digestive disorder, it is vital that Florida Hospital stay on the leading edge of today’s technology and treatments associated with these diseases,” said Des Cummings, Jr., Executive Vice President, Florida Hospital. “This partnership will benefit Central Florida by advancing the level of digestive health care that Florida Hospital provides to the community.”

With the new alliance, Olympus will be providing the latest in digestive health technology and state-of-the-art equipment to the Florida Hospital system. Some of the equipment that will be installed at Florida Hospital includes minimally invasive surgery equipment that minimizes large incisions and speeds up recovery time after surgery, and information technology that enables care givers to share images from one department to another.
